Thanks for posting. It doesn't really work in the same fashion as related_nodes.module, they complete each other. For sites that do not use taxonomy terms so strictly as I do, and which have forums, similar_entries.module would probably work great for support forums and such where people often need to find posts that are similar to the one they're reading.
