Cobalt, named after the metal, is as deep blue as its name suggests. Originally developed for a hardware site, Cobalt 2.0 is the latest version with an improved look and feel.
A sense of raw power, high technology and toughness, this template is "beefy", making it ideal for any forum dedicated to computer hardware, fast cars, racing or whatever strikes your fancy.
A piece of trivia: the word cobalt comes from the German word kobold which means goblin. The name has its origin in that miners got ill from this rock, which was laced with arsenic and sulphur, and in that age of superstition there was only one way it could have gotten there, a deliberate act by the goblins who were known as sinister creatures of the mountain. Perhaps surprisingly however the word kobold has a positive meaning, most likely an attempt to avoid the wrath of the goblins. The metal known to us as cobalt was extracted from this rock, but the raw rock could also be used as the source of a color pigment which is the origin of the color term cobalt blue.
